On my weekly radio show Get Real (www.hayhouseradio.com) I presented a program onprosperity. In advance I announced that I wouldbe doing on-the-air coaching for listeners whowanted help with issues of abundance. Sinceprosperity is so relevant for most people, Iexpected to receive lots of call-ins.When the show began, I looked at mycomputer switchboard showing me whowas calling in (called a "STAC") and to mysurprise, there were no calls. I announcedthe call-in number again, and after anotherfive minutes, there were still no calls. I wasamazed. Then I realized I was facing a fearthat one day I would present a show and noone would call in. So I simply went on withmy talk about prosperity principles, includingthe idea that prosperity may be right at yourdoor, but you can keep it at bay with a tinythought of lack.

The first 25-minute segment of the showwent by without even one caller. Over that timeI became more relaxed about no one calling,and I settled into what I felt was a good talk.During the commercial break thatfollowed, I commented to the engineerin the studio, "I guess there are no callerstoday." "Are you kidding?" he replied. "Theswitchboard was all lit up. Didn't you see it?"

When we analyzed the situation, I realizedthat I had input the wrong URL code for theweb page that showed the STAC. During theprevious week we had pre-recorded a showusing a STAC with a URL ending in .45. Theregular show used the exact same URL, exceptending in .46. I refreshed the screen with the.46 code, and there I found about 10 callers,some of whom had been waiting half an hoursince the beginning of the show!

My error proved my point: A wealth of callerswere there, but I missed them by one smalldigit! When I corrected that one digit, theyall poured in, and we enjoyed a marvelousdialogue during the second segment of theshow.

Likewise, there may be a wealth ofmoney, love, health, or the passion-filledcareer you desire, just waiting at your door, butyou just have to make a slight adjustment inyour mind to allow it in. Abraham-Hicks talksabout "vibrational escrow," describing theabundance of good things you have requested,but have not received because you believethat your wealth is not available, or you don'tdeserve it, or others have taken it from you,or you have to struggle to get it. Each of thesethoughts represents the one-digit differencebetween seeing an empty switchboard andfinding one lit up with enthusiastic callers.When I related my experience to a friend,he pointed out to me, "It's interesting that youhad a fear of doing a show with no callers.In a way, your fear of no callers created theexperience of no callers. You expected thatmight happen, so when it looked like that washappening, you accepted it. Someone whoexpected callers might have communicatedwith the engineer after a few minutes, and theissue could have been rectified quickly."

In a way, the whole scenario was perfectbecause I got to face my fear and walk throughit. I found a way to relax into giving a qualitytalk even if there were no callers. Severallisteners reported that they enjoyed thesegment of lecture without callers. Then thecallers showed up, so ultimately we had thebest of both worlds.

Imagine that you water your garden dailyby means of a hose connected to a 10,000-gallon water tank. One day you open the hosenozzle and you notice just a few little dropsof water trickling out. Immediately your mindgoes to worry and lack. "The water ran out!"you exclaim, or "Someone diverted it." Youfeel empty, poor, and victimized. Then youlook down and you see that you are standingon the hose.

Allowing prosperity may be summed up verysimply: Get off your hose. The universe hascreated everything in ample, even extravagantsupply for everyone, but not everyone isopen and ready to accept the supply offered.While you cannot choose for others, you canchoose for yourself. You do not have to createprosperity. All the prosperity there every was have to let it in.

Such a momentous reception can be assimple as shifting one thought, or changingone digit on the URL of your consciousness.Take a moment to think about what you wouldmost like, but have not been able to manifest.Now imagine that precise wealth, life partner,stimulating career, glorious home, or vibranthealth is already available, just waiting foryou to claim it. Further imagine that such amanifestation does not require struggle orsacrifice, but simply a tweak of your awarenessfrom fear to love; lack to abundance; fromworry to trust. Now you have your dial set tothe station you would like to watch, and watchit you will.
