1,000 Counselors sign up for ICDS Free Webinar - Professional Ethics with Dr. David Powell
The Institute of Chemical Dependency Studies in cooperation with The Arbor, La Hacienda Treatment Center and The Right Step/Spirit Lodge is excited to announce that when enrollment closed over 1,000 counselors have signed up for the first in a series of Free educational webinars. ICDS will be offering both Free and low cost webinars. Check recoverytoday. net often to stay informed when they are scheduled. Our goal is to start by offering at least one monthly for now and increase to a weekly schedule. The next webinar will be Screening/Assessment presented by John Herdman Ph.D. the author of the first through look at the twelve core functions of a counselor. Then in the near future Dr. Powell will return to present a 30 hour course on Clinical Supervision (there will be a minimal fee for this certification training).
Also new at the Institute of Chemical Dependency Studies is a CD recovery coaching certification which will be available early spring.
The Institute of Chemical Dependency Studies, a NAADAC approved education provider, sets the standard of excellence in initial, ongoing, and advanced clinical and professional training and development in the field of addiction counseling.
ICDS specializes in four elements of counselor education:
Substance Abuse Counselor Education
Training is offered in a classroom and through distance learning, and on-line. This NAADAC approved training is accepted for certifications and licensures across the country, including LCDC, CADAC, CASAC, CADP and many others.
Counselor CEUs (Continuing Education Units)
ICDS offers CEU Workshops (Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio) and online CEUs for certified/licensed counselors. ICDS will also travel to you to provide CEUs.
Additional Certification Courses
Counselors wishing to expand their knowledge can achieve three certifications through ICDS: Certified Preventions Specialist, Clinical Supervision and Certified Anger Resolution Therapist Training and Certified Recovery Coach (coming early spring).
ICRC Test Review and Preparation
The ICRC test is the most common credentialing test for prospective drug and alcohol counselors. ICDS provides quality, comprehensive Workshops and Manuals for the ICRC examination.
ICDS has been training counselors for sixteen years, offering students the option of completing their counselor training on- line via distance learning. This training is also offered in a classroom setting in Texas (Austin, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio) and California ( Los Angeles).
ICDS's chemical dependency counselor training gives students the national standard of knowledge, education, and skills to successfully work in the field of chemical dependency and substance abuse counseling.
