NAADAC 2010 Elections
Every two years, members of NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals, have the opportunity to select the officers who will determine the direction of the association. In April of 2010, NAADAC members will be voting on officers of the Executive Committee, as well as four Regional Vice Presidents. All positions are for two-year terms.
President-Elect
The President-Elect shall perform all duties incumbent upon the President during the absence or disability of the President, shall prepare for his or her succeeding term as President, and shall perform such other duties as the Board of Directors or the President may, from time to time, designate. The President-Elect shall, either directly or through Regional Vice Presidents, offer advice and counsel to state associations and to directors serving from states where no state association exists.Please note, the President-Elect will serve three different terms: two years as President-Elect, two years as President and two years as Past-President.
Treasurer
Description from the NAADAC Bylaws
The Treasurer of the Association shall have all powers and perform all duties commonly incident to and vested in the office of the treasurer of a corporation, including the following duties and responsibilities:
- He or she shall be responsible for developing and reviewing the fiscal policies of the Association.
- He or she shall ensure that an account is maintained of all monies received and expended for the use of the Association.
- He or she shall ensure that all monies of the Association are deposited in a bank or banks or trust company or trust companies, and that authorized disbursements are made therefrom.
- He or she shall render a report of the finances of the Association at the Annual Meeting of the Association or whenever requested by the President showing all receipts and expenditures for the current year.
- He or she shall also perform such other duties as the Board of Directors or the President may, from time to time, designate.
- The Chair of the Finance Committee shall be the Treasurer.
Secretary

The Secretary of the Association shall have all powers and perform all duties commonly incident to and vested in the office of secretary of a corporation, including the following duties and responsibilities:
- He or she shall attend all meetings of the Board of Directors, and of such committees as may be appointed and be responsible for keeping, preserving in the books of the Association, and distributing true minutes of the proceedings of all such meetings.
- He or she shall ensure that all notices are given in accordance with these Bylaws.
- He or she shall perform such other duties as the Board of Directors or the President may, from time to time, designate.
Regional Vice President
Description from the NAADAC BylawsRegional Vice Presidents shall encourage the chartering of local chapters and shall assist such organizations during their formation. They shall ensure that all Affiliated Associations within their respective regions operate within the guidelines established by the Association and are in compliance with approved Affiliated Association contracts and are kept informed of Association activities. They will serve on the Executive Committee for the directors and members within their region and shall be responsible for communicating to the Executive Committee any concerns or recommendations from their regionThe positions open for election are:

Campaigning Guidelines
Information on candidates will appear in the April issue of the NAADAC News and on the NAADAC Web site. There should be no other campaign activities by the candidates. Any written materials, except materials produced and distributed by NAADAC, are prohibited. This includes self initiated articles for publication in state or local or professional publications or editorial comments submitted in any of those publications as well.
Voting Information
All ballots are sent directly to an independent auditor. The Auditor counts ballots and notifies a NAADAC designated staff person and the Chair of the Nomination and Elections Committee who has received the most votes for each office. The Chair of the Nomination and Elections Committee must notify all candidates of the results by the deadline below. Election ballots are destroyed 30 days after all candidates are notified of the election results. Any candidate challenging the results of an election must notify the Chair of the NAADAC Nominations and Elections Committee within 30 days of the balloting.
