Put Yourself on the National Stage
Donovan Kuehn
NAADAC Director of Operations and Outreach
Presentation Applications Being Accepted Until January 8, 2010 for the First Annual National Conference on Addiction Disorders
Do you have knowledge that can help revolutionize addiction care? Can your years of experience and expertise help others in the addiction services profession? Consider sharing your knowledge at the first annual National Conference on Addiction Disorders (NCAD) to be held on September 8 -11th at the Crystal City Hyatt in Arlington, Va.
This conference is a partnership of the Vendome Group, publishers of Addiction Professional and Behavioral Healthcare magazines, together with NAADAC, the Association for Addiction Professionals, and the National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP), the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM), the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and the Software and Technology Vendors’ Association (SATVA) .
The NCAD replaces the NAADAC annual conference and seeks to be the premier site for addiction-focused education. No other event brings together so many diverse groups into one educational opportunity.
What are the Organizers Looking For?
The conference organizers are seeking educational content that focuses on the following topics:
- The prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery support of addiction disorders.
- Facility design and its impact on patient care.
- Technology trends and solutions that improve business operations and patient care.
- Business and workforce administration management and operations, including process improvement, performance-based contracting and accountability.
- Career development.
- Community-based services.
The conference will also include an advocacy track that will provide professionals with the opportunity to meet face-to-face with their lawmakers and help demonstrate the importance of addiction prevention, intervention, treatment and continuing care.
What are the Benefits of Presenting at NCAD?
Aside from the opportunity to visit the nation’s capital, there are many benefits to presenting at NCAD:
- All presenters receive a complimentary pass to the conference (including access to all networking and educational sessions, meal functions and receptions).
- Promotion of your credentials and institution in all electronic and print marketing materials.
- Recognition of your expertise by other industry professionals.
- Visibility and recognition within the industry.
- Networking opportunities at the conference.
Many Ways to Present
This year presenters have the opportunity to choose between four different types of presentations. This includes:
- Plenary Session (one hour including Question and Answer period)
- Educational Session (one hour including Question and Answer period)
- Learning Workshop (90-minutes including Question and Answer period)
- Learning Lab ( Full-day/six-hours)
To help the professionals recognize the benefits of your presentation, all proposals selected for the conference need to have understandable and relevant goals. All presentation submissions must include three clear learning objectives from the session that can be used in the attendees’ work environment.
Additional Benefits
Presenters selected to present at the NCAD 2010 also will have the opportunity to work with the Vendome group to develop their presentation into a Webinar, an online version of the presentation, which will be hosted throughout the 2010 calendar year. This will provide the opportunity to build your profile and share your knowledge at the conference and afterward as well.
